Timo Vuorensola is a film director from Finland who has been working the past seven years on his first feature-length film, the science fiction comedy Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning. Prior to that and during the production Timo has directed short films, music videos and advertisements. He is always interested in finding new ways to approach the entire film industry, and believes that the Internet can provide various very interesting possibilities to replace traditional production models.

Samuli Torssonen is the driving force behind the huge film hit, Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, and has been producing the series of science fiction parodies since 1992. Now he has decided to move forward, and is working on Iron Sky as a producer and as the head of the CGI department. His passion is huge space battle scenes, which will definitely be present in Iron Sky, but he’s also interested in telling a story which people will not easily forget. Samuli is probably one of the most skilled CGI artists in Finland, and his previous films are most notable for their outstanding special effects.

JOHANNA SINISALO

Finnish science fiction writer Johanna Sinisalo has had four novels and more than 40 short stories published. She has written screenplays for several Finnish television series, in addition to working in the advertising business. Her fiction has won several Finnish and international awards, including the prestigious Finlandia Prize for literature for her first novel, Not Before Sundown (Ennen päivänlaskua ei voi and translated as Troll - A Love Story in the U.S.). Johanna has brought a strong professional vision to the
team-based scriptwriting process, and has turned a mass of rough ideas into a polished story for Iron Sky.

JARMO PUSKALA

Jarmo Puskala came on board Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning in 1999, taking part in shaping the script to the final form. He became webmaster and graphic artist for Star Wreck and Energia productions. Jarmo has also become somewhat of a one man think-tank, with his ability to think outside the box when second opinions are needed. For Iron Sky it was Jarmo’s run-away movie idea about nazis on the moon that started the whole thing and if the writing team wanders too close to the beaten paths it’s his ideas that will put them back on the wayward track.

ANTTI HUKKANEN

Antti Hukkanen joined the Star Wreck project in 2002 as ”the trailer voice guy”, and has since performed various roles from script consultant to merchandise sales. In Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, he had a handful of voice acting parts, and he did the English subtitles. From there, it was a short way to becoming office manager for Energia Productions. He has contributed to the process of writing Iron Sky by providing ideas, refining concepts and making sure the proceedings are recorded in intelligible form.

September 2007 saw the 10th anniversary of Blind Spot Pictures, where Tero has produced or co-produced more than 10 feature films including Dancer in the Dark by Lars von Trier and Jade Warrior by AJ Annila. Tero is going to spare no effort in getting the Finnish films out there. The wider the better.

PETRI JOKIRANTA

Petri Jokiranta was production consultant for the Finnish Film Foundation from 1996-2000. In that time he financed over a hundred film productions including shorts, documentaries and features. In November 2000, Jokiranta joined the company Blind Spot Pictures as a partner. During that time he produced several features including Jade Warrior by AJ Annila and Man´s Job by Aleksi Salmenperä. Since January 2007, Jokiranta has worked as a freelance producer with several feature film projects.
